Philanthropy Northwest offers programs and services to help families meet the unique challenges of giving through a family foundation. Family foundations constitute the largest category of grantmakers among Philanthropy Northwest members.

  • Member Family Foundations
    Philanthropy Northwest members include family foundations located throughout the six state region served by Philanthropy Northwest.
  • Family Philanthropy Day
    Philanthropy Northwest's Family Philanthropy Day, held each spring, brings family foundation trustees and staff together to learn from each other and share resources and strategies. The most recent Family Philanthropy Day event was held April 19, 2010 in Seattle.
  • Best Practices in Grantmaking
    This intensive, interactive, seminar on essential skills and strategies in grantmaking is offered several times each year at locations throughout our member region. The next Best Practices event will be held October 28 - 29, 2010 in Seattle.
  • Workshops & Symposiums
    Learning opportunites for grantmakers that address emerging issues in philanthropy. Peer learning and connecting with other families about issues unique to this sector.
  • TGP Consulting Services
    Family foundations in transition often work with The Giving Practice consultants. Also assistance with retreats, strategic plans, evaluation and grantmaking. Philanthropy Northwest members pay a discounted rate for services.
