What We Do...

Convene
Bringing people together is what we do best. Our briefings, workshops, site visits, and very popular annual conference keep you current on the latest developments. We also support funder networks organized by issue, geography, and giving style. Philanthropy Northwest members attend our programs at a reduced fee.

Inform

We connect members to online and printed resources. They include a searchable directory of our members; Trends in Northwest Giving, our comprehensive report on giving in the region; and a library of reference materials. Our staff is also available to answer questions and provide assistance.

Educate
Philanthropy Northwest is committed to bringing high-quality educational
programs to our members. Best Practices in Grantmaking, our nationally developed curriculum presented by Northwest experts, is tailored to meet your needs. Our Corporate Philanthropy Institute offers a focused learning opportunity for corporate grantmakers. Our peer gatherings offer informal opportunities to meet and learn from your colleagues.

Communicate
We keep our members up-to-date and connected with each other through our
publications: weekly program announcements, monthly E-Bulletins, regional E-Bulletins and our newsletter, Philanthropy Northwest News. We communicate with policymakers and news organizations about the impact of philanthropy in our region.

Guide
The Giving Practice, our consulting team, helps family and community foundations, corporations and individuals create and customize their giving programs. The Giving Practice consulting services are offered at a reduced fee to Philanthropy Northwest members.

Lead
We work with our members to tackle critical problems by convening issue-focused working groups, arranging meetings with public policymakers, and developing recommendations for action

Philanthropy Northwest does not make grants.
