The Philanthropy Northwest Grantmakers of Color Affinity Group invites people of color working in grantmaking organizations to its first meeting of 2010 - featuring networking, wine and cheese. Join us to:
1) Get to know other people of color in the sector. Bring a friend within the Philanthropy Northwest membership who is new to the grantmaking field or forward this message to someone who might be interested!
2) Discuss future Philanthropy Northwest programming. Richard Woo, CEO of The Russell Family Foundation and Philanthropy Northwest Board Member, will facilitate a dynamic brainstorming activity, using the Open Space technique to gauge interest in potential topics. We will discuss how Philanthropy Northwest can continue to provide value to you and your organization, and gauge energy for suggested programming topics such as: the effect of a down economy on people of color; and the challenges for people of color working in grantmaking roles.
Background: The Philanthropy Northwest Grantmakers of Color Affinity Group is an informal network of people of color involved in grantmaking or who are grantmaking professionals in the Northwest. It guides Philanthropy Northwest on integrating issues of inclusiveness and racial equity into Philanthropy Northwest's goals and works to increase awareness about these issues throughout the philanthropic community in the region.
